From October 8 to 14, the price index of edible agricultural goods rose 0.9% over the week before to 113.51 points. Among the 58 categories of goods, 29 showed weekly price climb, accounting for 50% of the total. More specifically, the price of edible oil demonstrated slight rise, and meat price remained at a high level. Prices of fresh pork, beef and mutton kept rising, up 0.2%, 0.5% and 0.1% respectively. Egg and poultry prices continued to drop. Meanwhile, excessive rain in part of the country contributed to increased storage and transportation costs of vegetables, causing vegetable prices to rise 7.6% over the week before.
During the last week, prices of production materials rose 1.1%. 58 out of the 112 major categories of goods demonstrated weekly price climb.
